Good news! This flattering jean is making a comeback in 2022

You’ll be forgiven for not knowing which pair of jeans to wear in 2022. It was way back in 2018 that I first wrote a blog about ditching your skinny jeans. Back then we all collectively wore just the one jeans style (skinnies) from dawn ‘til dusk for play, partying and for a very small minority, work. Oh how much simpler life was!

Now there are so many jeans styles around it’s impossible to talk about all of them in one post. So instead, I’m going to focus on one style that is extremely flattering for all body types and is making a comeback, as seen on the Spring catwalks at Christian Dior and Saint Laurent.

Christian Dior and Saint Laurent Spring 2022 catwalks

I’m talking about dark indigo no wash denim jeans. They are the perfect style if you’re tired of slobbing around in joggers as they never fail to look polished. Stylish and versatile, they are smart enough to wear to the office and a night out. Plus, as you’ll see below, they come in a range of shapes so you can find one that ideal for your figure.

Theses are my favourites on the high street:-

High rise straight leg jeans – COS

This is a gorgeous fabric that won’t cling as it’s has structure. It does contain elastane though which means it will be comfortable to wear. Must admit, I’m not so keen on the it with the chunky boots, as pictured. It would look great with square or pointed toe ankle boots.

Rib cage straight leg jeans – Levis

I’ve mentioned these jeans just a few times before and that’s because they are such a good quality all rounder. If you’re looking for a ‘go-to’ style to replace your skinny jeans then the high rise straight leg shape would be the one.

Bootcut – Donna Ida

This wide boot cut shape is great for balancing out curvy hips but it looks just as good on slimmer legs too. The curved and darted waistband will also give you a shapely bottom.

Palazzo jeans – Zara

This style will make your legs look like they go on forever. I’ve just invested in a similar pair which have been so useful for social occasions. A blazer or simple blouse would make the perfect outfit with these.

Belted flares – & Other Stories

The front creases and belt make this style sharp enough to wear to the office – that’s unless you have a no jeans policy! It would equally as good with a chunky trainer if clogs aren’t your thing.
